Willies Ogola

Hi, I am Willies Ogola

Hi there! I hail from the beautiful country of Kenya. By profession, I am a Software Developer with a Masters degree in Computer Science from Hubei University of Technology in China. My journey into gardening began in 2022 when I faced a challenging phase in my life, a sudden job loss. It was a difficult time, but amidst the uncertainty, I found solace in nurturing the green world around me. As a kid, I always had a passion for growing things and connecting with nature. It was more of a hobby, a joyful pursuit. I loved the idea of cultivating my own food. Little did I know that this childhood fascination would become my saving grace during a tough period. Job applications were met with disappointment, but my plants continued to thrive. It got me thinking: why not share my love for gardening and the African perspective on it through a YouTube channel? After all, the unique climate in our region, with its moderate weather all year round, provides us with the opportunity to grow food consistently. Gardening, coupled with creating my own YouTube channel, gave me a renewed sense of purpose during that jobless phase. It prevented me from succumbing to depression and allowed me to focus on something beautiful and productive. That is my story, and I am excited to share this journey with you. Join me as I explore the world of gardening and offer insights from an African perspective.
